This week's lunch menu is East meets West. The list of fusion dishes all looked very tempting. Luckily the choices were limited so Emma and I made our decisions quickly.

Our drinks were served quickly and we enjoyed our little chat as we waited for our food. Emma chose the sparkling water to go with her food while I went with a hot chocolate, as usual, because I cannot handle caffeine. For those who are wondering, yes, the eatery does provide a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Our food arrived within a reasonable wait time and boy did they look good! We chowed down on them pretty fast. Emma had picked the freekeh salad with slices of ox tongue and was rather delighted with the succulent meat. (Points to Emma for trying the new and exotic!) I had gone with the whitebait sandwich. The bread roll was soft and fresh, and the tartness of the lemon mayo balanced out the deep fried whitebait beautifully. The dish had left me feeling refreshed rather than a greasy aftertaste. The only downside to this exquisite meal was I found the portion size erring on the small side. While I felt just right straight after finishing the meal, my stomach started grumbling a few hours after. I definitely regretted not ordering a side.

The portion size aside, the eatery is another Wellington gem not to be missed. It is a perfect date spot, whether it be with friends or your significant other. The ever changing menu is guaranteed to make you curious enough to come back time and again. So take a detour from the ever popular Courtenay Place and venture to Egmont Street to awaken your taste buds.

Live. Love. Laugh. Liberate.
